BIG NEWS! - The Little Fan Film that Could!
The official announcement has been made! We are the little fan film that could!
Doctor Who :: Victimsight made it on the ballot for the Constellation Awards! Congratulations to Aurora Buchanan who played Anna Thoms. She has been nominated for Best Actress in a movie. We want to wish Aurora the best of luck.
In my opinion, this is a big win for all fan films. This says that we, independent film makers, can compete with the big wigs, the Hollywood celebrity. Anybody can do it! If you have an idea for a movie, a script or anything, don't hesitate to get started. That's all we did. And we're here today to prove that it can be done!
Congrats Aurora, you earned it!

DVDs are ready!
Hey all,
It's been a while since we've posted anything here, but we want to let everyone know that DVDs are now ready! Here are the particulars.
If you wish to aquire one, we ask that a small donation of $10 CAD be made to cover the cost of making the DVD and $5 CAD for shipping. You can contact us from our contact page and further instructions will be given to you.

A new Review
Hey all,
Victimsight has now been out for less than a week and it is doing really well. We are extremely humbled by it's success. A big thank you to all who have participated. He couldn't be more happy.

A glitch in my behavior
Hey all,
I am so happy with the response from Victimsight. I feel very humbled by all those who have seen it. It has been such a wonderful experience.
However...
I recently made a comment on this site that was unjustified and ignorant. I basically implied that someone's opinion wasn't valid, and that they had something stuck up their butt. I was very wrong. I must apologize for this remark and ask for forgiveness. I was hasty and angry and I should have listened to reason. For this I am truly sorry. I do not want my big fat mouth to get in the way of allowing people to enjoy my film. Please accept my humblest apologies.
I do, however, still stand by Graham's performance.

9 Days and Counting
Well people, we are almost here!
Victimsight will officially be released in 9 days! It has been a fun and crazy ride but it's almost over. And just as a little treat for all your patience, we have put up a small video of the commentary we recored with Aurora, Graham, Robert and myself. Victimsight Premiere Announcement
Hey all,
We just want to make a announcement!
As you all know, Doctor Who :: Victimsight will be premiering on Friday, September 4th. We are going to be streaming it exclusively with Daily Motion.
Just a heads up! Check the site on September 4th. Of course, you might need to try a couple of times on that day. We might not have it up in your timezone yet. (We're on Pacific Time in Vancouver)
As well, we have a couple of clips in our members section, so sign in and check them out under Media!

Does our Doctor resemble David Tennant?
I just came across a comment made on my website regarding the look of the Doctor in our film and I want to set the record straight. But first I'd like to repost the comment here:
| what the h***... the new actor playing the Doctor is a copy -cat of the 10th..hair style even in clothes.. omg what ever happen to each Dr. being there own person. There was no compairson to Pertwee from T.Baker..or even McGann to the 9th Dr. please don't get me wrong i think the style for David tennant suited him fine... other than this, the story clip was nice . |
Our intention was never to copy David Tennant in any way. Although Graham Steekmsa looks like David's younger brother, we always intended that this was an independent Doctor, separate from the series Doctors. Graham had never seen the show prior to our casting him but, of course, became a big fan after. He was able to incorporate certain eccentricities of most of the previous Doctors while injecting his own character nuances into the performance. As for the costume and hairstyle, we tried several variations and this is what worked the best. I don't think it at all resembles David Tennant and in the end, Graham's performance will stand on it's own.
End Rant.
We are now 20 days away and counting. We are on schedule and the film is looking great. We are working on our extras for the DVD. We will be including bloopers 
, a commentary with me, the producer, Graham and Aurora, a behind-the scenes-documentary and more production photos. The DVD should be available sometime around the end of September. I can't wait for you guys to see it.

Musings from the Director
Hey all,
As we bring this project to a close, I just want to share a little from my heart. We are now just a little over a month from releasing a project that has been two years in the making. I have to come to enjoy the process and the journey of Victimsight. It has been enlightening, entertaining and, at some times, very challenging.
When we first began, Robert Westendorp and I had met after not seeing each other for many years. He and I graduated from high school together and we were good friends. But as life does to us so many times, we drifted apart. We both got married and started our respective families.

A new Teaser!

We are knee deep in this project and we're almost done. The score is complete, we're finishing the opening titles and we are on track for our September 4 Premiere! We just have a few touch-ups to go.

A Status Update
Hey all,
Just wanted to bring everyone up to speed with the progress of Doctor who :: Victimsight. We are nearing completion of the project! We are now hard at work making sure the audio is all normalized across the board. We'll be inserting our score very soon. Everything seems to be coming along to make make sure that we're ready for September 4!
A couple of other notes:
We're in talks with a Doctor Who magazine to do an interview with us in the coming weeks, so that is good news for publicity. We'll let you know more about that as that materializes. As well, we'll be cutting another trailer soon too, so check back for that.

We're Still At It
Hey all,
Sorry for the long wait. It has been a long time since we've done anything here at the site. Just want to let you all know that we are still alive and we're still kicking. In fact, we've been editing. Tonight, we were working on the film. We have a really rough edit right now. Some scenes still need to be fixed up, mainly the special effects shots. But it is coming along nicely.

Movie Update
Christmas is almost upon us! .. does time fly or what!
Things are moving.. Not as fast as I'd like them, but they're moving.
I'm in the midst of editing and have been trying to work on a title sequence for this beast. The footage is coming together well and I can't wait to watch it after the music is added.
Eldon and I appreciate everyones patience with us getting this done... there is a light at the end of this tunnel!
We'll try to post updates a little more frequently than we have and we'll also see what we can post in the media section in the meantime for you guys.

I get Inspired.
Hey all,
A couple of months back, maybe about six to nine months, I came across this video of J.J Abrams. For those of you who don't know who I'm talking about, he created Alias and Lost, most recently, Fringe. He is also reviving the Star Trek franchise by bring out a new moviein May 2009.
But I digress...
This talk was hosted by TED.com. TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader. J.J. traces his love for the unseen mystery –- a passion that’s evident in his films and TV shows -- back to its magical beginnings.

Haven't done this in a while...
Hey all,
Sorry to say, but I have kinda neglected this site. It's no that I wanted to, it's just that I haven't had the time. Life has been so busy. I've been recently laid off from my job, so I'm now working from home most of the time. Of course, four kids also keep me busy. I'm doing a system-wide reboot of my life and it's been crazier than ever.
I'm hoping by the weekend, my colleague, Robert and I can nail down a game plan with Victimsight and have some more content for you guys as soon as possible. Until then, I'm going to provide you with some videos that I made recently. I hope you like them.

Fanfilms :: Bigger Than You Think
About a year after my wife and I were married, (so that would be about 10 years ago) I was given a CD with a whole bunch of 'stuff' on it, by some guy in our church. It had sheet music and guitar tabs and pictures of who knows what. It had old commercials and funny clips and such. It also had a little known video called 'Troops'. Troops is considered to be the fanfilm that began the craze of fanfilms. Now, granted, fanfilms have been around since who knows when, (I know the Doctor Who fans have been making them like mad since the 80s) but this was my first fanfilm.

Back Up and Running!
Hey all,
The site is now back up and running smoothly. All the bugs seem to have been worked out, hence I can now do my blog!
Well, the new trailer for Doctor Who :: Victimsight is generating a lot of buzz. People are excited about it, and of course we are too. It's been quite a process getting this thing ready, but I'm pleased with our success. If you haven't had a chance to do so, check it out here.
Now we just have to get into the editijng mode for the entire project. My partner, Robert, and I are both moving our respective families in the coming weeks, so it looks like we won't get started until at least the end of September. But I'm hoping we can have other content up for you in the meantime (bios, pictures, other media, etc.) Just stick around for a while.

Welcome to the new site!
Hey all,
I just want to welcome you all to the new home for Doctor Who::Victimsight. It's been a crazy couple of months now, trying to get this project going, but it's been totally worth it. We will have our trailer available for viewing on Saturday, August 16 on the site, as well as more things available for you to peruse. We'll have more cast and crew bios soon as well as several picture galleries. Keep checking the site as the weeks go by.
